Kazakhstan are heading into the match knowing that a victory will seal their promotion to the second tier of Nations League, as they are sitting at the summit of League C Group 3, having collected 10 points from their opening four games. Belarus, meanwhile, are languishing at the bottom of the standings with just 2 points.
Kazakhstan have been impressive in the 2022-23 Nations League thus far, having recorded three wins and one draw. The Hawks got the better of Slovakia in their last game, courtesy of first half goals from Yan Vorogovskiy and Elkhan Astanov. Belarus, on the other hand, are the only team to take points of Kazakhstan, scoring a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw back on June10. Georgy Kondratyev’s side have scored just once in their previous four games.

Kazakhstan boss Magomed Adiyev is unlikely to make too many alterations to the winning formula. Astana striker Abat Aymbetov is expected to lead the line with Vorogovskiy and Astanov occupying the flanks. Darabaev and Tagybergen are likely to pull the strings in the midfield. As for Belarus, Politevich and Khadarkevich are expected to partner in the central defence. Artyom Bykov is in line to return to midfield.
