With the Champions League dream already set to be over, the possibility of finishing in the top six positions also looks bleak for Juventus.
Lazio will look to pile on Juventus’ misery when these two sides clash against each other in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Thursday night. Fresh from a massive points penalty, Juventus’ fortunes on the pitch are neither good. The team has been struggling to add any type of consistency to their game in Serie A. Therefore, Juve would hope that the cup games bring them better fortunes. However, their opponent is going through a fine run of form, making the task that extra bit harder.
With the Champions League dream already set to be over, the possibility of finishing in the top six positions also looks bleak for Juventus. In the Serie A table, they are now languishing in the 13th spot with just 23 points from 20 matches. It is not where many expect a team like Juventus to be at this stage of the campaign. In the league, they are on a three-game winless streak, including a 2-0 defeat to Monza in their last match.
On the other hand, Lazio are sitting in a good position to secure Champions League status. However, the race for the top four positions is a closely-fought battle involving as many as five teams. Either way, Lazio are making a good case for themselves with their recent good run of form. They are currently occupying the third spot, having managed 38 points from 20 games. Lazio are only two points behind second-placed Inter Milan but they are also not that far ahead of those sitting below them.

Juventus have a good number of players missing for this clash. Arkadiusz Milik is out with an injury for some time, while Leonardo Bonucci will also join him on the sidelines. They also have to make do without Weston McKennie, who has joined Leeds United on loan. It is unclear if Juan Cuadrado would be fit to take part in this match.
However, they also have some positive developments with the return of star striker Dusan Vlahovic and midfielder Paul Pogba. Federico Chiesa is also in line to be involved in this game if he overcomes his thigh issues. On the other hand, Lazio received a massive boost with the return of the Italian striker Ciro Immobile. Besides, full-back Manuel Lazzari is also in line to play a part.
