Hellas Verona will host Juventus in a Serie A fixture at the Marcantonio Bentegodi on Thursday evening. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat away to Monza on Sunday, while Juventus got the better of Inter Milan with a similar scoreline on the same day. The victory helped Bianconeri to move to seventh spot in the standings, having collected 25 points from 13 games, just two points adrift of top-four. Verona, meanwhile, are languishing at the bottom of the 20-team table, with just five points to their name, five away from safe zone.

Juventus put two goals past rivals Inter Milan without reply on Sunday. Adrien Rabiot broke the deadlock seven minutes into the second half, before Nicolo Fagioli doubled the lead six minutes from time. It was a morale-boosting win over Max Allegri’’s side after being knocked out of the Champions League group stage last week. Bianconeri have recorded seven wins and four draws from 13 Serie A games thus far. Despite not having an impressive European campaign, Bianconeri have been in pretty good form in the domestic league off late, having extended their winning run to five consecutive games.
Verona, on the other hand, have lost each of their last eight games. The Yellow and Blues’ only Serie A-win of the season came against Sampdoria (2-1) early in September courtesy of Emile Audero’s own goal and Josh Doig’s strike on the stroke of half-time. Before last Sunday’s loss to Monza, two of their three previous defeats had been at the hands of Milan and Roma.
Hellas Verona probable starting lineup: Montipo, Dawidowicz, Gunter, Ceccherini, Depaoli, Veloso, Tameze, Doig, Kallon, Lazovic, Henry
Juventus probable starting lineup: Szczęsny, Danilo, Bremer, Sandro, Cuadrado, Fagioli, Locatelli, Rabiot, Kostic, Miretti, Milik
