Although in terms of collective honours, Kane hasn’t had the most successful time, when it comes to individual honours there has been no stopping him. PFA Young Player of the Year in 2015, Harry Kane has also been awarded the Premier League Golden Boots three times. He has also been the recipient of 2018 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot. The striker has been applauded for his finishing, link-up play, aerial game and his set-piece prowess over the years. He can also operate as a second striker due to his ability to drop deep and help in build-up play. Now let’s have a look at some of the famous rivalries of Harry Kane.

Harry Kane vs Sergio Aguero

From 2015 onwards, the throne of Sergio Aguero as the best striker in England started to get threatened by the emergence of Harry Kane. The all-time leading goalscorer of Manchester City has been hailed by many Premier League defenders as the toughest striker they ever faced. He sits at the 4th place in the list of all time top Premier League scorers with 184 goals. Kane, on the other hand is just 6 goals away from overtaking the Argentine which just goes to highlight his incredible consistency. However, Aguero still is considered the better player overall mainly due to superior collective honours and big-game record as compared to the Englishman.

Harry Kane vs Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema has been in amongst the best striker debates for more than a decade now. He has been the main number nine for Real Madrid for quite sometime now. Benzema is widely renowned for his technique and unselfishness in front of goal, traits rarely found in strikers. Kane, on the other hand is the prime phase of his career and has still years ahead of him to become one of the all-time best strikers in Europe. Currently, however with his performances coupled with experience, Karim Benzema is the better player.

Harry Kane vs Romelu Lukaku

Since the 2020/21 season, Kane and Lukaku have been subject to constant comparisons and debates. Roughly the same age, the two extraordinary strikers have impressed the footballing world with extraordinary performances. While last season, Lukaku was with Inter Milan and Harry Kane had produced a historic season in the Premier League scoring most goals and grabbing most assists, the potential matchup between the two seemed quite exciting. While Lukaku relies more on the physical side of the game, the England captain is more of a technical player and more effective in all areas of attack than Lukaku. Their rivalry was ignited before the start of 2021/22 season, as Lukaku joined Tottenham’s rivals Chelsea. However, the move hasn’t quite worked out for the Belgian which places Kane slightly ahead of him at the moment.
