A brace from Kylian Mbappe earns all three points for France, who edged past Denmark 2-1. France went head to head with Denmark in Matchday 2 of the Group D fixture at the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium. Didier Deschamps made three changes to the XI that started against the Aussies and deployed a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Giroud serving as the primary striker. Behind Giroud are Dembele, Griezzmann, and Mbappe. Tchouameni and Rabiot were in the midfield, while Kounde, Varane, Upamecano, and Hernandez were in the back four. France entered the game after defeating Australia 4-1.

On the other hand, Denmark made four changes after a goalless draw against Tunisia and used a standard 3-4-3 formation under Kasper Hjulmand, with Damsgaard, Cornelius, and Lindstrom as their front three. Behind the front three were Maehle, Eriksen, Hojbjerg, and Kristensen, with Nelsson, Christensen, and Anderson on defense. Kasper Schmeichel began between the posts. Denmark entered the game, having won the previous two meetings with France.

Kylian Mbappe comes to the party yet again!

Denmark kicked off, and Lindstrom was brought down by Tchouamei after a pass from Nelsson, giving Denmark an early chance from a set piece. Denmark did not capitalize on the situation. On the other hand, Hernandez whipped a beautiful ball to the far post for Rabiot, who jumped to head the ball down while Giroud attempted to put it wide. Hernandez was at it again, this time feeding a beautiful ball to Mbappe, who carried it past Kasper Schmeichel to put France up 1-0.

Less than 10 minutes after taking a one-goal lead, France conceded when Eriksen’s corner fell into the path of Andersen, who pushed it across for Christensen, who powered it home to tie the game at one. With less than five minutes remaining in normal time, Kylian Mbappe came to the party once more for France, with Griezzmann whipping a peach of delivery into the box, which was nailed in by the young French sensation to double his tally and gave France all three points, securing their spot in the knockout stages.
