FC Slovacko will host Fenerbahce in the second leg of their Europa League third round qualification at the Mestsky Fotbalovy Stadion on Thursday night. The first leg encounter at Sukru Saracoglu had ended 3-0 in favour of Fenerbahce courtesy of Emre Mor’s opener and Lincoln’s brace. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 win over Hradec Kralove in a Czech first League fixture last weekend, while Fenerbahce played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Umraniye in their opening match of the new Super Lig season. Fenerbahce were eliminated down to the Europa League qualifier after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League second round qualifier last month.

FC Slovacko earned a spot in the Europa League qualifier courtesy of finishing fourth in the Czech First League standings last term. Martin Svedik’s side began their new domestic league campaign with a 2-2 draw at Brno, before getting the better of Hradec Kralove courtesy of Vlastimil Danicek’s lone goal in the 57th minute. Slovacko have lost just one of their last nine European encounters at home and were among the top defensive units in the last edition of Czech First league season, conceding the third-fewest goals (30) during the regular season. However, in order to overturn a three goal deficit, the Slovacko attackers will need to be at their best on Thursday.
Fenerbahce, on the other hand, finished second in the Turkish top division table to earn a spot in the second round of Champions League qualifier, but lost the tie against Dynamo Kyiv. Jorge Jesus’ side began their new Super Lig season with a thrilling encounter that saw both sides finding the back of the net three times each to share the spoils. Enner Valencia netted a brace before Mergim Berisha scored a last-ditch equaliser to earn a point for the Yellow Canaries against Umraniye. Last season, Fener were the highest scoring team in Turkey with 73 goals.
