Bayern’s title-hopes suffered a huge blow last weekend, having suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat against RB Leipzig. For the first time since the 2011-12 campaign, the Bavarians enter the final matchday of a Bundesliga season not sitting at the summit of the standings. The Reds suffered their fifth league-defeat of the season against the Red Bulls last time out despite taking the lead through Serge Gnabry’s 25th-minute effort. Thomas Tuchel has failed to make the desired impact in the Bayern hotseat since replacing Julian Nagelsmann in March, having won just five of his 11 competitive matches in charge of the Bavarian giants. Although, Bayern boasts the best away-record in the top flight this season, with nine wins from 16 games, they have lost three of their last six league-fixtures on the road.
FC Koln, on the other hand, have recorded just one win from their last seven Bundesliga-games at RheinEnergie Stadion. Nevertheless, the Billy Goats have taken 10 points from their last five outings in the top flight. Last time out, Steffen Baumgart’s men shared the spoils against Werder Bremen at Westerstadion thanks to Steffen Tigges’s 36th-minute opener. Prior to that, Effzeh got the better of Hertha Berlin 5-2 courtesy of Timo Hubers’s brace and one goal each from Davie Selke, Ellyes Skhiri and Denis Huseinbasic. It was their 10th league-win of the season. Koln will be hoping to end the season on a high, but that seems a daunting task considering the fact that they have lost nine of their last ten Bundesliga meeting against the Bavarian giants. Meanwhile, on a positive note, the Billy Goats were on the verge of taking all three points against Bayern in the reverse fixture back in January courtesy of Skhiri’s fourth-minute effort, but they were ultimately forced to settle for a draw after Joshua Kimmich scored a 90th-minute equaliser.

Bayern Munich probable starting lineup: Sommer, Mazraoui, Pavard, De Ligt, Cancelo, Kimmich, Coman, Muller, Musiala, Sane, Gnabry
