F91 Dudelange will host Malmo FF in their second leg of the Europa League third round qualifying match at Stade de Luxembourg on Thursday night. The first leg at Elda stadion had ended 3-0 in favour of Malmo courtesy of goals from Isaac Kiesse Thelin, Ola Taivonen and Veljko Birmancevic. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a thumping 5-0 win over Jeunesse Esch in a Luxembourg National division fixture last Weekend, while Malmo suffered a 2-1 defeat at Sirius in a Allsvenskan fixture on the same day.

F91 Dudelange won the Luxembourg top division title last term and earned a spot in the Champions League first round qualification, where they defeated Tirana 3-1 on aggregate to advance to the next round. However, in the second round of qualification, Carlos Fangueiro’s side suffered a 4-2 aggregate defeat to Pyumnik and were eliminated down to the Europa League qualification.  The Luxembourg outfit recorded a thumping five star win in their opening match of the new domestic league campaign courtesy of goals from Joao Magno, Dejvid Sinani, Mehdi Kirch and an own goal by Alexis Boury.

Malmo, on the other hand, were previously dumped out of the Champions League qualifying by Lithuania’s FK Zalgiris. Meanwhile Milos Milojevic’s side are apparently playing catch-up in defence of their domestic league title, and fell five points adrift of the Allsvenskan leaders Hacken following the recent defeat to Sirius. The Blue Ones sit sixth in the standings, ove halfway through the 2022 campaign.
