Everton will host Nottingham Forest in a Premier League fixture at the Goodison Park on Saturday. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa last weekend, while Forest managed to secure a narrow 1-0 win over West Ham United, a day later. The victory helped Steve Cooper’s side to move to the 10th spot in the league standings, with three points from two games, while the Toffees are yet to open their account this term and are languishing at the 18th spot.

Everton began their new season with a narrow 1-0 loss to Chelsea, before suffering a second consecutive defeat at Villa Park last week. Danny Ings and Emi Buendia netted for Villa, before Everton pulled one back courtesy of an own goal by Lucas Digne. It was an even contest at Villa Park but the hosts managed to secure all three points. Forest, on the other hand, managed to register their first win of the campaign against the Hammers last week. Taiwo Awoniyi’s lone strike in the first half injury time was enough for Forest to take all three points. Prior to that, Steve Cooper’s side had lost 2-0 to Newcastle United on August 6.

Everton boss Lampard has a number of decisions to make for Saturday’s game. Anthony Gordon is linked with a move to Chelsea, while Dele ali is also seemingly heading for the exit door. Mason Holgate, Conor Coady and James Tarkowsi are likely to form the back-three with Nathan Patterson and Vitaliy Mykolenko occupying the flanks. As for Forest, Cooper is unlikely to make too many alterations to the winning formula. Awoniyi and Johnson would form the attacking-duo with Jesse Lingard operating behind them in a free role.
Everton probable starting lineup: Pickford Holgate, Coady, Tarkowski, Patterson, Iwobi, Onana, Mykolenko, McNeil, Gordon, Gray
Nottingham Forest probable starting lineup: Henderson, Worrall, Niakhate, McKenna, Williams, O’Brien, Mangala, Toffolo, Lingard, Awoniyi, Johnson
