Frankfurt had an impressive pre-season, winning three of their four friendlies. Meanwhile in their last match against Magdeburg, which was a DFB-Pokal tie, Oliver Glasner’s side netted four times without reply, courtesy of Daichi Kamada’s brace and one goal each from Jesper Lindstrom and Lucas Alario. The Eagles won the 2021-22 Europa League trophy by getting the better of Rangers, 5-4 on penalties, after the match had ended 1-1 in 120 minutes of play. Die Adler have bolstered their squad by signing some big names like Jenns Hauge, Lucas Alario and Mario Gotze.
Bayern, on the other hand, have made five summer signings in the form of Matthijs De Ligt, Sadio Mane, Mathys Tel, Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraouii. Meanwhile talismanic striker Robert Lewandowski has left the club to join Barcelona. The Bavarians faced a tight challenge against Leipzig last weekend, but goals from Jamal Musiala, Sadio Mane, Benjamin Pavard, Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane helped Julien Nagelsman’s side clinch their first title of the new season. Bayern participated in just two pre-season friendly games, winning the first one 6-2 against DC United before losing 1-0 to Manchester City.
Frankfurt defenders Jerome Onguene and Aurelio Buta are sidelined with thigh and knee injuries respectively. Rafael Borre is expected to lead the line with Gotze and Kamada in support. Toure, Tuta and N’Dicka could form the three-man defence. As for Bayern, midfielder Leon Goretzka is nursing a knee injury, therefore Marcel Sabitzer is expected to join Joshua Kimmich in the middle of the park. Musiala was impressive against Leipzig and the German international could retain his place on the left side of attack. New recruit Mane is likely to lead the line with Muller in support and Gnabry operating down the right channel.
Eintracht Frankfurt probable starting lineup: Trapp; Toure, Tuta, N’Dicka; Knauff, Jakic, Sow, Kostic; Kamada, Gotze; Borre.
Bayern Munich probable starting lineup: Neuer; Pavard, Upamecano, Hernandez, Davies; Sabitzer, Kimmich; Gnabry, Muller, Musiala; Mane
