Czech Republic collected 14 points from their 8 World Cup qualifying games to finish at the third spot in Group E, just one point behind second-placed Wales. Jaroslav Silhavy’s side will also participate in one more friendly against Turkey on Saturday, before heading into their EURO 2024 qualifiers in March. For the EURO24 qualifiers,the Locomotives are drawn in Group E alongside Albania, Faroe Islands, Moldova and Poland. Czech Republic’s record in the European championship is impressive, having taken part in each of the last seven finals, therefore it would certainly be a surprise if they were not present at the finals of the competition in two years.
Faroe Islands, on the other hand, picked up eight points from their six Nations League games to secure third spot in League C Group 1. After the game against the Czechs, Hakan Ericson’s side will participate in one more friendly match against Kosovo on Saturday. The National Team have also failed to qualify for the World Cup and their next competitive action will be the EURO24 qualifier against Moldova late in March.Faroe Islands and the Czechs are in the same group, but the National Team will once again be huge underdogs, having never qualified for the the finals of a major event.
