Coventry City will host Norwich City in an EFL Championship fixture at Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 defeat to league-leaders Burnley last Saturday, while Norwich thrashed Preston North End 4-0, on the same day. The Canaries are currently occupying seventh spot in the English second tier standings, having collected 39 points from 27 games, just two adrift of sixth-placed West Bromwich Albion, who have played a game more. Coventry, meanwhile, have a game in hand, and are languishing at the 15th position, with 35 points to their name.

Coventry are currently going through a rough patch, having not tasted victory in their last five outings. Last time out, the Sky Blues lost to Burnley courtesy of Jordan Beyer’s lone goal eight minutes from time. It was a poor performance from Mark Robins’ side as they failed to register even a single shot on target in the entire match at the Turf Moor. Prior to that, a much changed Coventry side struggled to contain fifth tier outfit Wrexham as they lost 4-3 and got eliminated from the FA Cup. The Sky Blues have won just one of their seven Championship games since returning from the month-long World Cup break, and that was against West Bromwich Albion, through Viktor Gyokeres’ lone goal, three minutes into the injury time.
Norwich City, on the other hand, have lost four of their seven games across all competitions since the resumption of competitive action following the World Cup-break. The Canaries restarted with a 1-0 win over Swansea, before going on a five-game winless run, that included a FA Cup third round loss to Blackburn Rovers on January 8. However, David Wagner’s men managed to get back to winning ways last weekend, as they put four goals past Preston without reply. Both Teemu Pukki and Kieran Dowel scored a brace to help the Canaries take all three points at Deepdale.
Coventry boss Robins is likely to revert to a back-three consisting of Janathan Panzo, Callum Doyle and Michael Rose. Defender Josh Wilson-Esbrand is doubtful after a knock to his knee over the past week, meanwhile Jake Bidwell might start on the left flank. Meanwhile Matty Gooden and Tyler Walker are sidelined with injuries. As for Norwich City, Pukki will continue to lead the line, with Hernandez and Dowell in support. The Canaries will be without midfield duo Aaron Ramsey and Isaac Hayden.
Coventry City Probable line-up: Wilson, Rose, Doyle, Panzo, Dabo, Hamer, Sheaf, Bidwell, Palmer, Allen, Gyokeres
Norwich City probable line-up: Krul, Aarons, Omobamidele, Hanley, Giannoulis, McLean, Sara, Sargent, Dowel, Hernandez, Pukki
