Corinthians vs Flamengo: Copa Libertadores Live Stream, Schedule, Fixture and Probable Lineups

In an all-brazilian Copa Libertadores tie, Corinthians will host Flamengo in the first leg of the quarter-final match at the Neo Quimica Arena on Tuesday. Both sides are heading into the game on the back of victories in their respective Brazilian Serie A fixtures. The hosts secured a narrow 1-0 win over Botafogo last weekend, while Flamengo thrashed Atlético Goianiense 4-1 in their previous outing on the same day. Corinthians are currently sitting second in the Brazilian top flight standings with 38 points from 20 games, while the visitors are three places behind them with 33 points. 

Corinthians edged past Boca Juniors in the last-16 stage of the Copa Libertadores last month. After both teams failed to break the deadlock in 310 minutes of football over two legs, the second leg went to penalties and the Brazilian outfit prevailed 6-5 winners. Meanwhile, since the second leg against Boca Juniors, the People’s Team have been in superb form in the Serie A, winning four of their five league games. Their latest victory came against Botafogo courtesy of Gustavo Silva’s lone strike. Prior to that, Vitor Pereira’s side suffered a huge blow in their hunt for the Copa do Brasil title as they lost 2-0 against Atletico Goianiense in their first leg of the quarter-final clash on July 28.

Flamengo, on the other hand, also have been in impressive form in the league, winning four of their last five league games. Meanwhile their only defeat during that time period came up against Corinthians on July 11. In the last outing against Atletico Goianiense, Dorval Junior’s men netted four times through Lazaro, Marinho, Arturo Vidal and Victor Hugo to take all three points. Meanwhile Flamengo thrashed Deportes Tolima 8-1 in their two-legged tie of the Copa Libertadores last-16 clash last month.  

Probable Lineups

Corinthians’ midfield duo of Gustavo Mantuan and Renato Augusto are sidelined with injuries. Meanwhile defender Raul Gustavo, who missed the previous game due to a thigh problem, is set to return to the team. Forward Luan and midfielder Paulinho are nursing long-term injuries. Guedes is expected to lead the line with Rony operating behind him in a free role with Alberto and Willian occupying the flanks. As for Flamengo, goalkeeper Diego Alves is out with a groin problem, while Rodrigo Caio and Bruno Henrique are sidelined with knee injuries. Maia and Vidas are likely to sit in front of the back-four with Hugo providing the creative spark up front.
