Last Saturday, at the Goodison Park, the Blues secured the win courtesy of Jorginho’s lone goal from the penalty spot in the first half injury time. Despite getting the three points, head coach Thomas Tuchel wouldn’t be too happy with the overall performance of the team. Despite having more than 60% of ball possession and creating a decent number of chances, Chelsea were not clinical enough in front of goal. The German tactician is still in search of a top class striker to replace Romelu Lukaku, who returned to Inter Milan this summer.

Tottenham, on the other hand, were simply superb against Southampton. At the Tottenham Hotspur stadium last week, the attackers were firing on all cylinders, while the defence looked pretty solid. Antonio Conte’s side has made a statement with a dominant victory against the Saints. Southampton opened the scoring through James Ward Prowse before Ryan Sessegnon netted the equaliser, and then Eric Dier gave the lead to Spurs. An own goal from Mohammed Salisu gave Spurs a two goal cushion before Dejan Kulusevski put the icing on the cake with Spurs’ fourth goal of the night.
Chelsea boss Tuchel is unlikely to make too many alterations to the team that started last week. The back-three of Koulibaly, Silva and Azpilicueta is likely to retain their place in the playing eleven, with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante forming the midfield duo. As for Spurs, Harry Kane is expected to lead the line with Son Heung-min and Kulusevski in support. Although Ivan Perisic is pushing for a start in the left-wing-back position, for now, Sessegnon is likely to retain his place.
Chelsea probable starting lineup: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Silva, Koulibaly; James, Jorginho, Kante, Cucurella; Sterling, Mount; Havertz
Tottenham Hotspur probable starting lineup: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Bentancur, Sessegnon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son
