Carlos Henrique, popularly known as Casemiro is a Brazilian football player who plays for Spanish club, Real Madrid. Casemiro deploys as a central defensive midfielder and is considered amongst the best in that position. Graduating from the youth ranks in his home country in Sau Paulo, the 30-year-old made his senior debut in 2010. It was not long that Real Madrid saw his talent and grabbed the opportunity to sign him in 2013. After spending his first year in Madrid mainly playing for the youth team, he was loaned out to Porto for the 2014/15 season. After amazing displays in Portugal, Madrid recalled him and since then he has been an integral part of one of the successful eras in the history of Real Madrid. Alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, Casemiro has formed one of the most potent midfield trios of all time.

Casemiro vs Sergio Busquets

Playing for eternal rivals, Real Madrid and Barcelona, Casemiro and Busquets have often found themselves as the main topics of conversations between pundits and fans. Although, representing the same position in the pitch, both the players couldn’t have more contrasting playing styles. While, the Brazilian is known for his ‘dirty work’ and roughness, the Barcelona man exhibits extraordinary composure on the ball and is key for breaking opposition’s defensive lines with world-class passing skills. Casemiro, however, beats his rival when it comes to goals as he is much more of a threat from set pieces as compared to Busquets. Despite, their long-lasting rivalry, there has always been a sense of respect between the two which was evident when Busquets praised Casemiro as one of if not the best players in the world in his position before the Clasico of March 2022.

Casemiro vs N’Golo Kante

One of the best holding midfielders in the world, N’Golo Kante has blessed the world with his sensational playing skills over the recent years. A fan-favourite, Kante has been one of the few players who can say that they are a match for Casemiro. In 2021, when Chelsea beat Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Champions League, majority of those in the footballing world applauded Kante as the best holding midfielder in the world and inevitably his comparisons with Casemiro began. Even though, collectively Kante enjoyed a much better season same couldn’t be said statistically as Casemiro outdid his Chelsea counterpart in every department from defense to attack. Finally, a year later in 2022 Casemiro got his revenge as Madrid beat Chelsea in the quarter finals of the Champions League.

Casemiro vs Fabinho

Hailing from the same country, Fabinho and Casemiro, unsurprisingly have been the subject of constant and heated debates as to who is better and who should start for the Brazilian National Team. Ever since Fabinho signed for Liverpool in 2018 and became one of their key players, his name has been constantly applauded amongst the best defensive midfielders in the world. Even though Casemiro is still Brazil’s first choice when it comes to the holding midfield position, Fabinho has ensured that the team won’t suffer in the absence of the Real Madrid man. Both the players have very similar playing styles and Brazil would feel blessed to have two such talented players pushing each other in a very important area of the pitch.
