It will be a good test for Sheffield to kickstart their preparations for the upcoming 2022/23 season in the Championship. They narrowly missed the chance to qualify for promotion to the Premier League having lost in the playoffs semi finals. Sheffield will want to go a step further in the upcoming campaign and for that a good pre-season will be necessary. They will be up against Portuguese outfit, Casa Pia who are preparing for a campaign in Portuguese’s top division after eight decades.

They have also roped in Manchester City youngster, Tommy Doyle on loan and are reportedly in for other signings as well.

Throughout the 2021/22 season they were splendid in LigaPro, second division in Portugal as they finished second and gained promotion to the Primeira Liga. Casa Pia will be excited to host Sheffield as it will give them a real test before the official season starts.
