Cangzhou Mighty Lions will be taking on Tianjin Jinmen Tiger in the matchday five of the Chinese Super League 2022. It is a bottom of the table clash with both the sides having suffered disappointing starts to their respective campaigns. The hosts, Cangzhou Mighty Lions have managed to earn only five points so far and as a result occupy the 12th position in the league table. While, Tianjin Jinmen Tiger are in an even worse state sitting in the 16th spot having accumulated only two points so far, and currently trapped in the relegation zone. Both the sides are in a desperate situation and badly need the three points to give them some sort of momentum.

Cangzhou Mighty Lions had enjoyed a good run coming into the June fixtures of the Chinese Super League. Prior to June, they had managed four wins, one draw and just a solitary defeat in their last six fixtures. The start to their campaign was also commendable as they beat Beijing Guoan by 2-1. However, since then results have been less than ideal. A 1-1 draw against Meizhou Hakka was followed by a 0-0 stalemate with Chengdu Rongcheng FC. To make matters worse, they suffered 1-0 narrow defeat at the hands of Shenzhen FC. All this means that Cangzhou Mighty Lions are without a win in their last three fixtures and only three points above the relegation zone meaning that they would want nothing less than a win to get their campaign back on track.
As for Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, situation is really bad as they are yet to find a win having already played four fixtures. Having endured a mixed run of results in their last six fixtures before the end of June, with three wins, two defeats and one draw, the spirit in the dressing room would have been positive to achieve more consistency. However, two draws against Meizhou Hakka and Chengdu Rongcheng FC both by 1-1 have been the only occasions when Tianjin Jinmen Tiger have been able to collect any points. Their other two fixtures have ended in defeats to Shenzhen FC and Beijing Guoan. Genwei Yu’s side will be eager to upset the hosts and get out of the relegation zone.
Cangzhou Mighty Lions will head into the game without any worries about injuries or suspension. This will certainly boost their chances of getting all three points. While, for Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, Zhou Tong and Yuanjie Su are major doubts having missed their last game due to injury. Rest of the squad is available for selection into the playing XI.
