EFL Championship leaders Burnley will host West Bromwich Albion at Turf Moor on Friday night. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 league-win over Coventry last Saturday, while West Brom thrashed Chesterfield 4-0 on Tuesday to enter the fourth round of FA Cup. Vincent Kompany’s side have collected 59 points from 27 games to be sitting at the summit of the English second tier standings, while West Brom are placed five places behind them, with 41 points to their name. The last meeting between these two sides ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw Rodriguez’s 30th-minute opener was canceled out by Thomas Asante, eight minutes into the injury time, more than four months ago.

Burnley got the better of Coventry last Saturday, courtesy of Jordan Beyer’s lone goal eight minutes from time. The result helped Vincent Kompany’s side to extend their unbeaten run to seven league-games. The Clarets are heading into a comfortable finish in the top two of the English second tier, as they are 16 points ahead of third-placed Watford. Prior to that, Kompany’s side got the better of Premier League outfit Bournemouth 4-3 in the third round of the FA cup. Meanwhile, Burnley are unbeaten at Turf Moor this season, having collected 34 points from just 14 games in front of their home faithful, averaging over two goals per game in the process.

West Brom, on the other hand, extended their unbeaten run to six games after thrashing National League side Chesterfield in their FA Cup third-round replay on Tuesday night. Jon Swift, Tom Rogic, Jake Livermore and Jovan Malcolm found the back of the net for the Baggies at The Hawthorns. Meanwhile, when it comes to the Championship, the Throstles have won nine of their last 10 matches, a run which has seen them rise to the playoff spot. Their last league-game against Luton Town ended in a thrilling come from behind 3-2 win, courtesy of goals from Daryl Dike, Jayson Molumby and Conor Townsend.

Probable Lineups

Burnley centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis suffered a foot injury in the FA cup win over Bournemouth and is likely to be sidelined for around two months. The Clarets will also be without right-back Vitinho. Rodriguez will continue to lead the line, with Benson and Zaroury in support. As for West Brom, striker Brandon Thomas-Asante is serving a three match ban and won’t be available for Friday’s game. Dike might spearhead the atack, with Diangana and Yokuslu occupying the flanks.
