Burnley are occupying top spot in the English second tier standings, having collected 56 points from 26 games, while the visitors, who have a game in hand, are sitting at the 14th position in the table, with 35 points to their name.
Burnley will host Coventry City in an EFL championship fixture at Turf Moor on Saturday evening. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of contrasting results in their respective FA cup third round fixtures last weekend. The hosts got the better of Premier League outfit Bournemouth 4-2 to enter the next round of the tournament, while Coventry got eliminated courtesy of losing 4-3 against Wrexham. Meanwhile, when it comes to the English second tier standings, Burnley are occupying top spot, having collected 56 points from 26 games. The visitors, on the other hand, have a game in hand, and are sitting at the 14th position in the table, with 35 points to their name.

The Clarets currently sit five points clear of second-placed Sheffield United. Vincent Kompany’s side have managed to carry their remarkable league-form into the FA Cup, having defeated Bournemuth last Saturday to enter the fourth round of the tournament. Both Manuel Benson and Anass Zaroury scored a brace at the Vitality Stadium to help Burnley secure the win. They will meet League two side Ipswich Town in the next round fixture later this month. Meanwhile, Kompany’s side have won 10 of their last 11 Championship games, a 5-2 defeat to Sheffield United in November the only exception during this run. Burnley are the only team in the second division who are yet to lose on home turf.
Coventry, on the other hand, have won only one of their last seven games across all competitions. Their latest league-match was against Bristol City last week, which ended in a 1-1 draw courtesy of Antonine Semenyo’s equaliser. And then, the Sky Blues lost to Wrexham in the Cup fixture, despite finding the back of the net three times, through Ben Sheaf, Viktor Gyokeres and Kasey Palmer. Mark Robins’ side are currently four points adrift of playoffs and will be hoping to turn their fortunes as quickly as possible.
Burnley possible line-up: Muric, Roberts, Harwood-Bellis, Beyer, Maatsen, Bastien, Culien, Manuel, Brownhill, Zaroury, Rodriguez
Coventry City possible line-up: Moore, Rose, Doyle, Bidwell, Norton-Cuffy, Sheaf, Allan, Hamer, Wilson-Esbrand, Waghorn, Guokeres
