Brentford will host Everton in a Premier League fixture at Gtech Community stadium on Saturday evening. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of victories in their respective EFL Cup second round fixture during the mid-week. Brentford defeated Colchester 2-0, while Everton secured a narrow 1-0 win over Fleetwood to advance to the third round of the competition. Brentford has made an impressive start to their 2022-23 Premier League campaign, recording one win, a draw and a defeat. The Bees’ only victory this term came up against Manchester United on August 13. Thomas Frank’s side netted four times without reply through strikes from Josh Da Silva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo. And then, the Bees suffered a 3-2 defeat to Fulham before putting two goals past Colchester without reply in the EFL Cup match. Last Wednesday, Keane Lewis-Potter and Mads Bech Sorensen, netted for the Bees to secure the win.
Everton, on the other hand, advanced to the third round of the EFL Cup by defeating Fleetwood, courtesy of Damarai Gray’s lone strike in the 28th minute. Prior to that, Frank Lampard’s side played out a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest after Brennan Johnson’s opener was canceled out by Gray. Everton hasn’t recorded a win in their opening three games and this is their worst start in the competition in over a decade.

Brentford boss Frank is likely to revert to his best starting eleven for Saturday’s game after resting key players during the win against Colchester. Toney is likely to lead the line with Mbeumo and Lewis-Potter in support. Janelt, Norgaard and Dasilav could form the midfield trio. As for everton, Rondon is expected to be the target-man up front with last game’s goal-scorer Gray and Gordon operating around him.
