Aston Villa will be bidding to record their sixth consecutive win in the Premier League when they travel to Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday to take on Brentford. The victory helped Unai Emery’s side to climb to sixth spot in the English top flight standings, having collected 50 points from 31 games, just six adrift of the top four. The Bees, meanwhile are sitting at the ninth position, with 43 points to their name.

Brentford suffered their eighth league-defeat of the season against the Eagles last Saturday courtesy of goals from Diego Costa and Hwang Hee-chan. It was Bees’s third consecutive defeat and the result extended their winless run to five matches in the top flight. Thomas Frank’s side have won 10 Premier League-games this term and their last success came away to Southampton mid-way through March, thanks to two unanswered goals from Ivan Toney and Yoane Wissa. Meanwhile, Bretford have been solid at home this season, having lost only two of their 15 league matches at Gtech Community Stadium, while collecting 27 points in the process.
Aston Villa, on the other hand, have the sixth-best away-record in the Premier League this season, having taken 21 points from 15 matches, and have recorded three wins and a draw from their last four top flight matches on the road. Villa put three goals past fourth-placed Newcastle without reply last Saturday, thanks to Jacob Ramsey’s 11th-minute opener and a second-half brace from Ollie Watkins. The result extended Aston Villa’s unbeaten run to eight games in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Villa secured a 4-0 win over the Bees in the reverse fixture in October last year courtesy of Leon Bailey’s second-minute opener and Danny Ings’s first-half hat-trick.
