Brazil are heading into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 win over Japan in a friendly in June, while the African outfit got the better of Chile on penalties in a Kim Cup match.
Two World Cup bound teams Brazil and Ghana will square off against each other in an international friendly at the Stade Oceane in France on Friday night. The South American giants secured a spot in the global event in Qatar, courtesy of finishing on top of the 10-team qualification group, while Ghana overcame Nigeria over two legs in the third round qualification tie. Brazil are heading into the match on the back of a narrow 1-0 win over Japan in a friendly in June, while the African outfit got the better of Chile on penalties in a Kim Cup match, during the same month.

Brazil unsurprisingly had an impressive World Cup qualification campaign, winning 14 of their 17 games, while drawing the remaining three to pocket 45 points, six more than second-placed Argentina. After ensuring qualification, the Selecao traveled to Asia, registering victories against South Korea (5-1) and Japan (1-0), more than three months ago. In their last outing against the Samurai Blue, Neymar’s 77th-minute goal from the penalty spot separated the two sides at the Japan National stadium. It was Brazil’s fifth consecutive victory across all competitions.
Ghana, on the other hand, managed to reach their fourth ever World Cup finals by getting the better of Nigeria in the final qualifying round. The first leg ended in a goalless draw, but Thomas Partey’s opener in the return leg in Abuja proved to be the decider, despite the fact that the Eagles managed to equalise through William Troost-ekong. After that, the Black Stars kicked off their 2023 AFCON qualification with a 3-0 win over Madagascar before being held to a 1-1 draw at Central African Republic. Meanwhile Ghana got thrashed 4-1 by Japan in a friendly on June 10, before edging past Chile, four days later.
