Bournemouth will be taking on Everton in an EFL Cup clash that will see two struggling sides taking on each other. The third-round tie between these two teams will be hard to call since both sides are going through a difficult phase. Their poor run in recent Premier League matches has pushed them closer to the relegation zone. However, the upcoming contest will give the teams some respite from league football.

In the Premier League standings, Bournemouth are in the middle of a disappointing four-match losing run. They have 13 points from 14 games and are placed 17th in the standings – one place and a point above the relegation places. Meanwhile, Everton are sitting a place and a point above them in 16th with 14 points. The visitors have won just one of their last six league games and have not scored a goal in four of their last five matches. With both sides struggling to find any rhythm, it will be difficult to predict a winner.

Possible Lineups

Both teams will be facing each other at the weekend again. The league match on Saturday will be of more importance, hence fans can expect to see a lot of changes happening to the starting lineups for the EFL Cup clash. Bournemouth will continue to miss Neto Moura, David Brooks and Lloyd Kelly and the trio will most probably return only after the World Cup. Meanwhile, Everton suffered a big blow in the form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury. It is not clear when he will return from the setback. He will be joined on the sidelines by Ben Godfrey, Yerry Mina and Andros Townsend.

Bournemouth possible line-up: Travers, Stacey, Stephens, Mepham, Smith, Christie, Lerma, Stanislas, Billing, Moore, Solanke

Everton possible line-up: Begovic, Patterson, Holgate, Keane, Vinagre, Iwobi, Garner, Doucoure, Gray, McNeil, Maupay
