One half of David Moyes’ West Ham United team will travel to Boreham wood for a pre-season friendly at Meadow Park on Tuesday evening. The English Premier League outfit is heading into the tie on the back of a 2-0 win at Servette last Friday. Meanwhile, Boreham suffered a 2-0 defeat against Brentford in their last outing. The hosts are preparing for another stint in the  National League under Luke Garrard and the fifth tier outfit is hoping to make full use of their pre-season games ahead of the 2022-23 campaign beginning against Southend United on August 6. West Ham on the other hand, had an impressive 2021-22 Premier League season, finishing seventh in the league table to secure a Europa Conference League qualification.

Last Saturday, Boreham Wood  conceded twice through Bryan Mbeumo and Josh Dasilva to begin their pre-season with a defeat. After Tuesday’s match Gerard’s side will take on Hitchin Town, Dartford and Potters Bar Town before beginning their quest to reach the Football League.  The Wood had a mediocre 2021-22 season, finishing ninth in the standings. West Ham, on the other hand, began their pre-season with a convincing victory at Servette courtesy of goals from Aji Alese and Divin Mubama. A healthy mix of youth and experience should feature against the Wood as one half of the Hammers would be in action at Ipswich on the same day.
