Bohemians will host Shelbourne in a League of Ireland Premier Division clash at Dalymount Park on Friday night. These two teams have no immediate relegation worries despite being in the bottom half of the points table. However, a positive result for either side can help them move to the top half. The hosts are sitting at the seventh spot just behind the visitors in sixth in the 10-team competition. Meanwhile both these teams have been out of action for three weeks due to the international break and will be aiming to get back to winning ways. Last month, Bohemians registered only one win from their five league games and pocketed just five points from a possible 15 available. Keith Long’s side shared the points against Drogheda United after Jordan Flores’ opener was canceled out by Dean Williams’ late strike. Prior to that, Bohs suffered a humiliating 3-0 loss at St. Patrick’s Athletic courtesy of a hattrick by Tunde Owolabi. It was their third consecutive defeat. Meanwhile Bohemians would be confident of a positive result against the Reds as they have won four and drawn one of their last five meetings against them.
Shelbourne, on the other hand, lost against Shamrock Rovers courtesy of first-half goals from Richie Towell and Rory Gaffney. That was Shelbourne’s only defeat of the month having won four consecutive games before. Shelbourne were promoted as second-tier champions last season, and have been delivering impressive results in the top flight football to sit 13 points clear of the bottom two at the halfway stage.

Bohemians goalkeeper James Talbot is unlikely to feature for Friday’s game, having sustained an injury during international duty. Tadhg Ryan is expected to replace the Irish keeper. Max Murphy, Jordan Doherty, Ciaran Kelly and Tyreke Wilson could form the back four. As for Shelbourne, Jordan McEneff, Adam Thomas, Daniel Hawkins and Sean McSweeney are all doubtful because of fitness issues. Brendan Clarke is likely to start in between the posts.
