Blackpool vs Watford: EFL Championship Live Stream, Schedule, Fixture and Probable Lineups

Blackpool will host Watford in an EFL Championship fixture at Bloomfield Road on Saturday evening. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a goalless draw against Sunderland on Tuesday, while Watford suffered a 2-1 defeat against Swansea City, a day later. Blackpool have recorded just 12 points from as many to be languishing at the 21st position in the standings, just two points above the drop zone. Watford, on the other hand, are sitting at the 10th spot, having pocketed five points more than the Seasiders. 

The Seasiders welcome Watford to Bloomfield Road tomorrow afternoon for the first time since 2014.

Blackpool’s last victory came against Huddersfield (1-0), early in September, courtesy of Theo Corbeanu’s 38th-minute strike. After that, the Tangerines lost three consecutive games against Rotherham United (3-0), Millwall (2-1) and Norwich City (1-0), before sharing the spoils against Sunderland. Michael Appleton’s side have scored just twice in six outings, while they have not posted a victory in their home ground since the opening day of the campaign. 

Watford, on the other hand, have recorded only two wins from their last 10 games across all competitions. Last time out, Ismail Sarr gave the lead to Watford inside the opening 34 minutes, before the Swans came out all guns blazing in the second half to score two goals through Olivier Nitcham and Ben Cabango and took all three points. It was the Hornets’ third league defeat of the season. Prior to that, Slaven Bilic’s side thrashed Stoke City 4-0 , courtesy of goals from Sarr, Ken Sema, Keinan Davis and Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

Probable Lineups

Blackpool midfielder Kenneth Dougall won’t be available for Saturday’s game, having collected five yellow cards in the season thus far. Madine is expected to lead the line with Yates and Corbeanu in support. As for Watford, midfielders Mario Gaspar and Francisco Sierralta are struggling with injuries. Bayo could spearhead the attack with Sarr, Asprilla and Sema in support.
