Blackpool will host Everton in a pre-season friendly at Bloomfield Road on Sunday afternoon. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of victories. The hosts secured a narrow 1-0 win over Salford City last Wednesday, while Everton were thrashed 4-0 by Minnesota United 4-0 in their last outing. Blackpool are preparing to participate in their fifth friendly of the summer, while the visitors will be getting ready to take part in their third. Everton didn’t have a great Premier League season last term, finishing 15th in the table, just four points above the relegation zone. Blackpool, on the other hand, finished the 2021-22 Championship season in the 16th spot in the 24-team table.
The Club Shop and Ticket Office will be open until midday tomorrow ahead of the visit of Everton.

Blackpool’s pre-season has been pretty hot and cold so far, recording two wins and two defeats. The Seasiders began their pre-season with a 2-0 win at Southport FC before suffering two successive defeats against Leeds United (4-0) and Rangers (2-1), and then got the better of Salford City in their last outing. After the game against the Toffees, Michael Appleton’s side kick-off their 2022-23 Championship campaign at home against Reading on July 30. Blackpool have signed Lewis Fiorini and Rhys Wiliams on loan from Manchester City and Liverpool respectively this summer.
Everton, on the other hand, have made only one first-team signing this summer, adding defender James Tarkowski. Frank Lampard’s side will also take on Dynamo Kyiv next Saturday before beginning their new Premier League season at home against Chelsea on August 6. The Toffees have had a disastrous pre-season so far, losing to Arsenal (2-0) and Minnesota United (4-0).

Blackpool boss Appleton is likely to opt for a strong starting eleven as this will be their final friendly before the start of the Championship next Saturday. Williams could make his debut, while the likes of CJ Hamilton, Josh Bowler and Gary Madine are pushing for a place in the playing eleven. As for Everton, Lampard could also name a strong playing eleven, in order to earn a positive result and boost the morale of the squad. Dele Alli could feature on Sunday alongside Doucoure and Davies in the middle of the park. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is likely to be the target man with Gray and Iwobi occupying the flanks.
