Birmingham City will hope to maintain the winning momentum when they host West Bromwich Albion in an interesting EFL Championship contest on Friday night. The upcoming game will be difficult to call for various reasons. Despite being the home team, the form is not on Birmingham side, it is something which they would look to change soon. Meanwhile, the visitors are in the middle of an excellent run that has made them a genuine contender for the play-off promotion battle.

A lot of credit for the change in fortunes of West Bromwich Albion must be given to Carlos Corberan. Since Corberan’s arrival in October, they have moved away from relegation scare to get in to the middle of the play-off race. They won four of their last five Championship matches and have developed into a real force in this division. Birmingham City must be at the top of their game to get anything against them on Friday night.

However, it will be a difficult task for the home side, especially if their recent form is taken into consideration. Birmingham did end their recent losing streak with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Swansea City in their last match. However, they are still not clear of the relegation zone. Overall, Birmingham are sitting at the 18th spot with 35 points from 29 matches. On the other hand, West Brom have 44 points from 29 games to be placed sixth in the table.
