Barcelona will be looking to continue their impressive winning run in the La Liga when they host Getafe at the Camp Nou on Sunday. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a dominant 5-0 Copa del Rey win over AD Ceuta in the mid-week, while Getafe suffered a 2-1 defeat to Espanyol in the league, last Sunday. Blaugrana are currently occupying top spot in the Spanish top flight standings, having collected 41 points from 16 games, three clear of the reigning champions Real Madrid, sitting at the second spot. The visitors, meanwhile, are languishing at the 16th position, with 17 points to their name from as many games.Â

Barcelona have not actually been in La Liga action since their 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid on January 8. Xavi’s side have now won three matches since then, overcoming Real Betis and Real Madrid to lift the Supercopa de Espana title, before thrashing Spanish third tier side Ceuta 5-0 to enter the quarter-finals of Copa del Rey. On Thursday, Robert Lewandowski netted a brace, while the likes of Raphinha, Ansu Fati and Franck Kessie scored one goal each for the Catalan club. Barcelona will now switch their attention to the league, finishing the month with matches against Getafe and Girona.
Getafe, on the other hand, have lost their last three games across all competitions. Last time out, Azulones lost to Espanyol despite the fact that Enes Unal got on the scoresheet. It was their eighth league-defeat of the campaign, while they have only registered four top flight wins this season. Prior to that, Quique Sanchez Flores’ side were eliminated by Levante in the Copa del Rey at the start of January. The Deep Blue Ones are in their sixth straight season at this level of football and have work to do if they are to ensure safety. As of now, Getafe are just one point clear of the drop zone.Â
Barca have no major injury concerns, but strikers Lewandowski and Feran Torres will be missing due to suspension. Fati might lead the line in the absence of Lewandowski, with Gavi and Dembele in support. Sergi Busquets, Frenkie de Jong and Pedri might form the midfield-trio. As for Getafe, midfielder Mauro Arambarri is nursing an injury and may miss Sunday’s game. Team’s leading goal-scorer Enes Unal will continue to spearhead the attack, with Mayoral in support.Â
Barcelona Probable line-up: Ter Stegen, Araujo, Kounde, Christensen, Balde, F de Jong, Busquets, Pedri, Dembele, Fati, Gavi
Getafe probable line-up: Soria, Iglesias, Dakonam, Duarte, Alderete, Portu, Alena, Mila, Algobia, Mayoral, Unal
