Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that he is uncertain about his future at the Camp Nou, following a 3-3 draw in the club’s latest La Liga encounter against Levante. Koeman’s men led 2-0 at half-time in a must-win game to keep their chances of winning the La Liga alive. However, a disastrous second half saw them concede two goals resulting in a 2-2 scoreline, before leading again only to let the lead slip.

“Coaches are always questioned. But I understand that, after that second half, there are questions. We are disappointed and we’re wondering what happened. We have to move on and prepare for next season,” said Koeman while interacting with reporters in the post-match press conference.

“As a coach, you’re always responsible. We spoke at half time about improving defensively and not dropping our intensity. We were hopeful, we were 2-0 ahead. You don’t expect to draw from there,” he added.

Difficult to win La Liga

The Dutchman termed Barcelona’s chances of winning the La Liga as “difficult”, considering the position the Blaugranas find themselves in. Real Madrid and Atletico are both ahead in the table, with games to play.

“Our aim was to win all three games and hope that the others would lose points. But now it’s difficult. Games last for 90 minutes and we lost a lot in the second half. They [Levante] caused problems and we didn’t defend well. It’s very disappointing. It’s impossible to understand what happened. It’s difficult to explain it,” he stated.

Koeman had words of praise for Ousmane Dembele who made his presence felt with a quality performance. Dembele was a quality performer for the Spanish giants, accounting for a goal having struggled in the previous league clash against Atletico Madrid.

“He caused a lot of danger on his wing and he was very good defensively. It was more extreme for him to play at wing-back. His counterattacking was devastating,” concluded the Barcelona manager.

Sergi Roberto is one of the players from the Blaugranas to have sustained an injury, during the game against Levante. Roberto has a thigh problem in his right leg, with a lack of clarity over when he will be available for selection.
