Austria will host Croatia in a UEFA Nations League fixture at the Ernst Happel stadion on Sunday night. The hosts are heading into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat to France on Thursday night, while Croatia got the better of Denmark 2-1 on the same day. The victory helped the Blazers to move to the summit of League A Group 1 with ten points from five games, while Austria are sitting at the bottom of the four-team table, having collected just four points thus far. A victory in vienna will secure Croatia’s progress to the finals, while nothing less than three points will do for Das Team if they are to remain in the top division.
Best of luck to #Croatia!💪

Austria have managed to register just one win from their five Nations League games thus far, while three of the matches ended in defeats. In their last outing against France, Ralf Rangnick’s side conceded two times in the second half through Kylian Mpabbe and Olivier Giroud. The result meant that Das Team will need to take all three points against 2018 World Cup finalists on Sunday and hope that France will falter against Denmark in the other match of the day, to avoid relegation from the top tier.

Croatia, on the other hand, have one foot in the finals. The Checkered Ones have their faith in their own hands as a victory would ensure their qualification to the next round. The Blazers are just one point above second-placed Denmark but have a superior head-to-head record. In their last match against Denmark, Borna Sosa gave the lead to Croatia, four minutes into the second half, before Christian Eriksen equalised for Denmark, thirteen minutes from time. And then, two minutes later, Lovro Majer restored the Blazers’ lead and secured the win.
