In a clash between relegation-battling sides, Atletico Goianiense host Juventude in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A. Both sides will be heading into Sunday’s match eager to bounce back from losing their respective last match. The hosts lost to table-toppers Palmeiras, while the visitors are in the middle of a bad run of form, having lost the last three games on the bounce. Atletico Goianiense have 13 points from 12 games after winning three, drawing four and losing five till now. They are sitting 17th on the table and are just a point shy of 16th-placed Goias. Prior to the match against the league leaders, Goianiense were on a two-game winning streak. However, the 4-2 defeat against Palmeiras in the last encounter has caused them major concerns. Still, they will back themselves to win the home match against a struggling Juventude on Sunday.
On the other hand, Juventude have lost the last three games in a row. They lost to Athletico PR, Corinthians and Santos. None of them were massive hammerings, but losing three on the bounce can have an effect on players and fans. Infact, in the last six matches, Juventude have won only once, drawn once and lost the remaining four matches, as they sit second from the bottom in the table. It does make a worrying stat, however, they still have a chance to begin their resurgence when they travel to fellow bottom-four side Atletico Goianiense on Sunday.

Both sides have some injuries and suspensions to deal with ahead of the Sunday clash. There are question marks hanging over the fitness of Gabriel Baralhas and Edson Fernando, while two defensive-minded players are definitely out of the clash in Dudu and Wanderson. With Diego Churin leading the attack, they have enough firepower up front to trouble any defence. On the other hand, Juventude will miss the services of goalkeeper Felipe Alves and defender Paulo Miranda. Yuri’s suspension will also create a bit of a concern for the side, however, Darlan Mendes could take his place in the squad.
