Atlanta United will host Orlando City in a Major League Soccer (MLS) fixture at Mercedes-Benz stadium on Sunday. The hosts are heading into the tie on the back of a 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake last Thursday, while Orlando City were held to a 1-1 draw at Colorado on the same day in their last outing. Atlanta are currently sitting at the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference table consisting of 14 teams, having pocketed 23 points from 19 games. Meanwhile the visitors occupy fifth place having collected 29 points from 20 games.

Last Thursday, Atlanta United took a two goal lead inside the opening 33 minutes courtesy of a brace from Ronaldo Cisneros. Although Real Salt Lake pulled one back through Jahan Kappelhof, four minutes later, the hosts managed to hold on to the slender lead and secured all three points. Gonzalo Pineda’s side had an impressive game, creating 14 goal-scoring chances and recording seven attempts on target. It was the five Stripes’ first win in their last five games and they would be hoping to build a winning momentum.

Orlando City on the other hand, were forced to share the spoils at Colorado after Gyasi Zardes had canceled out Facundo Torres’s opener. Oscar Praeja’s side have registered just two wins from their last five league games and they have managed to hold on to the playoff position. The Lions have shown great fighting spirit in most of their games this season but they have struggled to secure positive results on a consistent basis.

Probable Lineups

Atlanta are unlikely to make too many changes to the side that got the job done against RSL. Last game’s double-goal hero Ronaldo Cisneros is likely to lead the attack alongside Martinez. Rossetto and Sejdic could sit in front of the back-four and pull the strings while Moreno is expected to provide the creative spark up front. As for Orlando, Torres neted his fifth goal of the season this week. Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato, who provided the assist for Torres’ goal, should partner Akindele up front. Meanwhile Mason stajduhar is sidelined with a jaw injury.

Atlanta United probable starting lineup: Rios Novo; De John, Franco, Campbell; Rossetto, Sejdic; sosa, Moreno; L Araujo; Martinez, Cisneros

Orlando City probable starting lineup: Gallese; Smith, Jansson, Schlegel, Ruan; Perea, C Araujo, Urso, Torres; Pato, Akindele
