Arsenal have won this competition five times, however, in the most recent one which was held in 2019, they lost to Lyon 2-1. On Saturday though at the Emirates Stadium, the Premier League side will be the favourites. However, the Spanish side cannot be underestimated despite some of their key players departing them this summer.

Sevilla have been making a lot of headlines in the summer regarding their transfer business. With the latest one being the reported departure of centre-back Jules Kounde to Barcelona. Not to mention that another defender from their team Diego Carlos has already left them. Hence, it will be interesting to see how the Spanish club rebuilds the defence in their absence. Besides, there are also question marks over the participation of Rafa Mir and Marcao in Saturday’s encounter.
On the other hand, Arsenal have a lot of injury concerns themselves. New signing Fabio Vieira is yet to make his debut while attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is also an injury doubt. Besides, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu could very well be ruled out of this clash due to their respective injuries. It is unlikely Arteta will risk any player who is not fully fit for this clash since the Premier League season is not far away from commencing.
