Arsenal will play Chelsea in a pre-season friendly match at Camping World Stadium on Sunday. Both sides are heading into the match on the back of victories in their previous outings. The Gunners defeated Orlando City 3-1 last Thursday, while Chelsea suffered a defeat at Charlotte 5-3 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time on the same day. The Blues didn’t have a great season last term, finishing third in the Premier League standings, registering 21 wins, 11 draws and six defeats to collect 74 points, 19 behind winners Manchester City.  Arsenal on the other hand, missed out on Champions League qualification by finishing fifth in the Premier League table with 69 points from 38 games, just two points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur who will take part in the 2022-23 Champions League.

The Gunners are preparing to participate in their fifth warm-up match this summer. Mikel Arteta’s side began their pre-season with  four successive wins against Ipswich (5-1), Nuremberg (5-3), Everton (2-) and Orlando City (3-1). Last Thursday, at Exploria Stadium, Facundo Torres canceled out Gabriel Mrtinelli’s opener on the half-hour mark, but Arsenal responded with strikes from Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson, securing the win for Arteta’s side against the MLS outfit. Arsenal will also take on Sevilla next Saturday, before beginning their 2022-23 Premier League campaign away to Crystal Palace on August 6.

Chelsea on the other hand, after the Arsenal game, will play Udinese before beginning their new Premier League campaign away to Everton on August 6. The Blues began their pre-season with a 2-1 win over Club America last Sunday, before suffering a defeat against MLS side Charlotte. At Bank of America stadium, Christian Pulisic opened the scoring for Chelsea before substitute Daniel Rios netted a dramatic 92nd-minute winner for the hosts from the penalty spot to take the game to a shootout.

Probable Lineups

Chelsea probable starting lineup: Mendy; chalobah, Sliva, Koulibaly; James, Jorginho, Kovacic, Chilwell; Pulisic, Havertz, Sterling
