Arsenal got the better of Chelsea courtesy of Gabriel Magalhaes’ 63rd-minute goal. It was a Cagey affair at Stamford Bridge as both sides managed to register a combined total of only three shots on target. However, Mikel Arteta’s side managed to squeeze out their 11th league-win of the campaign. Arsenal are now two points clear of second-placed Manchester City. Meanwhile, the North London side reached the semi-finals of the 2021-22 EFL Cup, where they lost 2-0 on aggregate to eventual winners Liverpool.
Brighton, on the other hand, lost to Leicester City on penalties in the round of 16 stage last term. Meanwhile the Seagulls are currently sitting at the sixth spot in the English top flight standings, having pocketed 21 points from 13 games, just five points away from Champions League spot. Two weeks ago, Brighton defeated Chelsea 4-1 before getting the better of Wolves on Saturday. Against Wolves, Adam Lallana and Karou Mitoma struck for Brighton either side of Goncalo Guedes and Ruben Neves’ efforts, before Pascal Gross struck an 83rd-minute winner.
