Antoine Griezmann is a strong left-footed forward who is often known for his great attacking skills along with technique, vision, and link-up play in the opponent’s box. Regardless of his small stature, he is capable of creating and scoring goals. Antoine Griezmann is even praised for his work rate, his ability to read the game thoroughly, and is also hailed for his pace and mobility, which he possesses throughout the game. Griezmann started his senior club career while playing for Real Sociedad. However, in 2014 he joined Atletico Madrid – where he was in his prime before transferring to FC Barcelona in 2019. Two seasons later, the Catalan giants loaned Griezmann back to Atletico Madrid. For his country France, he has been considered one of the most influential players ever. He is also the nation’s fourth-highest all-time top goalscorer.

For the Spanish side, Real Sociedad, Griezmann ended up winning the Segunda División in his first season. At Atletico under Diego Simeone, the Frenchman bagged titles like the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Supercopa de España. He was also nominated for the Ballon d’Or and Best FIFA Men’s Player in 2016 and 2018. With FC Barcelona, he won a Copa del Rey before returning to Atletico Madrid. For France, he won the 2010 UEFA European Under-19 Championship. Moreover, he was named Player of the Tournament as France finished runner-up at UEFA Euro 2016. He even won the Silver Boot for being the tournament’s second-highest goalscorer during France’s victory at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The comparison between the two, knowing who is better is not even debatable. By all means, Karim Benzema with his stunning performance has outperformed Griezmann clearly. His consistency throughout the league games is enough to help one decide that he rules above any other striker currently. His excellent playmaking skills and classy finishing makes him have an edge over his rivals or opponents in general. However, at an international level, Griezmann stands out over Real Madrid’s ace Benzema.
Suarez’s departure from FC Barcelona ended on a bittersweet note. But the Uruguayan had reconciled his career and flourished once again while being with Atletico Madrid. Luis Suarez with his offensive skills has resulted in a better goal conversion rate than Griezmann. However, Griezmann has far better playmaking skills overall. Despite their statistical values and other merits, it stands clear that Luis Suarez is far better than Griezmann at the moment which is evident as to who is preferred in the Atletico squad these days.
