Milan got the better of Sampdoria courtesy of goals from Junior Messias and Olivier Giroud. It was the Rossoneri’s fourth Serie A victory of the campaign, from six games, while two matches ended in draws. Meanwhile, Pioli’s side began their Champions League campaign with a 1-1 draw against RB Salzburg before defeating Dinamo Zagreb last Tuesday. Giroud opened the scoring on the stroke of half time, before Alex Saelemaekers and Tommaso Pobega netted after the break to seal the win against the Croatian outfit.
Napoli, on the other hand, have also made a similar start to their campaign, not losing a single game in eight outings across all competitions. In the last match against Rangers in the European stage, Matteo Politano, Giacomo Raspadori and Tanguy Ndombele netted for the Blues to secure the win. It was Napoli’s fourth successive win across all competitions. Meanwhile, Luciano Spaletti’s side had defeated Liverpool 4-1 in their first Champions League match of the campaign last week. Napoli has kept six clean sheets in their last nine league games, stretching back to the end of last season.
