Milan shared the spoils against Salzburg after Alexis Saelemaekers had canceled out Noah Okafor’s opener. Three days later, the Serie A champions defeated Sampdoria courtesy of goals from Junior Messias and Olivier Giroud. It was Milan’s fourth Serie A victory of the campaign from six outings. Stefano Pioli’s side are now sitting at the third position in the standings, with 14 points, level on points with leaders Napoli, but separated by goal difference.Â
Dinamo Zagreb, on the other hand, kicked off their European campaign on a brilliant note, as they got the better of the 2021 champions Chelsea at Stadion Maksimir last week. The Croatian outfit secured the three points courtesy of Mislav Orsic’ lone goal in the 13th-minute. Meanwhile, the Blues have also made a stunning start to their Croatian top flight title-defence, winning eight of their opening nine games, to be sitting at the summit of the standings. In their recent outing against HNK Gorica, Orsic’s last-ditch strike was enough to secure all three points for the Citizens.
AC Milan boss Pioli has a number of injury concerns, as the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alessandro Florenzi, Divock Origi, Rade Krunic and Ante Rebic are sidelined. Giroud, who scored the winner in their last outing, is likely to be the target-man up front with Rafael Leao, Diaz and Saelemaekers in support. As for Dinamo Zagreb, Bruno Petkovic is likely to lead the line with Orsic in support.
AC Milan probable starting lineup: Maignan, Dest, Kalulu, Tomori, Hernandez, Tonali, Bennacer, Saelemaekers, Diaz, Leao, GiroudÂ
Dinamo Zagreb probable starting lineup: Livakovic; Ristovski, Sutalo, Peric; Misic; Moharrami, Ljubicic, Ademi, Ivanusec, Orsic; Petkovic
