“I come from Muzaffarpur a small town in the state of Bihar and I have been a cricket fanatic since I was 6 years old. Today, my identity is because of the Indian Cricket Team and Mr.Sachin Tendulkar. In my journey many a time I have faced many hurdles including cycling to far-off stadiums to watch a cricket match. I have also traveled without a train ticket innumerable times so that I don’t miss a match but the amount of happiness I get on reaching the stadium seems worth all the trouble. I often think I was born to be a die-hard cricket fan,” Gautam said.
“Nowadays, fans have the means to engage with their favourite sport and especially with the advent of fantasy sports. NFCC is a completely new and unique concept and the format of the tournament gives you a chance to showcase your understanding and fandom for the sport. I feel privileged to be associated with NFCC,” he added.
Gautam exemplifies how “Cricket is a Religion in our Country,” and his arduous journeys to watch each match serve only to inspire the next generation of cricket fans. A well-known figure in the stands and in the media, he has been depicted with paint all over his body, the tricolour in his hand, and occasionally with a conch that he blows fiercely at all fours and sixes since 2002.
