In a recent video on Instagram, Alonso hinted that he has been in a relationship with F1 journalist Andrea Schlager. Over on his Instagram stories, Alonso had uploaded a video of Schalger on horseback and captioned it ‘A powerful beauty!’ Schlager had also posted a video of surfing with the Alpine driver, captioning it ‘I’m looking forward to another summer,’ indicating that the two have been seeing each other for a while now. The two-time world champion was previously married to Raquel Rosario, a Spanish singer. The two had tied the knot in 2006 but after five years of matrimony, decided to go their separate ways in 2011. Alonso and Schlager do not have any children together.
Andrea Schlager is an Austrian journalist and television host. On ServusTV, she is best known for moderating motorcycling, tennis, and ice hockey. Knittelfeld is where Schlager grew up. When she was in middle school, she was already working at numerous Formula 1 events, including the adjacent Red Bull Ring, where she worked in Bernie Ecclestone’s office at FOM. She studied English and marketing in Graz after graduating from high school, and then finished the sports journalism course in Salzburg. Schlager spent six months in the sports department. Then there were operations in front of and behind the camera for numerous production businesses. For her accomplishments, she was named “Austrian sports journalist of the year” by the industry publication Extradienst in 2019.
Schlager has her very own website that boasts of a comprehensive timeline about her journey as a sports journalist. On the homepage of the site, she has written, “About me… this means to describe myself. This task has always been difficult for me to do. I am from Styria, this I can say and for a long time I felt home in Portugal. I am a journalist by profession, even though it merges often with my private life. Sport is and always has been my key aspect, therefore I am very lucky to travel the world as a sports presenter and journalist for some years already. As a native in German, my linguistic skills also include English, Spanish and Portuguese. When l am not traveling around the world, I love to spend my time with my two horses. My dog Bodhi and my cat Albert complete my own little farm.”
