Sebastian Vettel recently had to be asked to leave the office, according to Aston Martin team principal Mike Krack, because of his continued hard work despite being close to the end of his Formula One career. After a stellar career in which he won 53 races and four championships, Vettel retires from the sport after the final two Grands Prix of this season in Brazil and Abu Dhabi. With their swansong approaching, many drivers might start to slow down, especially since Aston Martin won’t be competing for pole positions or top-three finishes.

The Diligent Vettel

The 35-year-old Vettel is still as diligent as ever, according to Mike Krack, as Aston Martin competes with Alfa Romeo for the constructors’ championship’s sixth-place spot. He responded when Krack suggested that Sebastian Vettel had been driving at his best recently. “Probably yes, I think he gained from the better performance [of the car] or the better results. It added a little bit more to his motivation.” Suggested Krack.

‘We had to kick him out of the office’

“And it’s really nice to see him work. I think we had to kick him out of the office [on Friday night in Mexico, otherwise, he would have still been there, studying data, looking at where you can change things.” Said Krack.

“So he’s not on a farewell, this I can tell you for sure. He really wants to do well. He wants to bring us forward and bring his part to finish the season in the best possible place.” Added the Aston Martin team boss.
