Ocon is unsure Gasly will require a lot of assistance to catch up at Alpine.

Esteban Ocon doesn't think Pierre Gasly, his new Formula 1 teammate, will need much assistance learning Alpine and thinks he will be a "excellent addition" in 2023.

Gasly will join Alpine the next year after having competed for Red Bull during his whole racing career, mostly with its AlphaTauri squad in Formula One. Fernando Alonso, a two-time world champion who signed with Aston Martin at the end of July, will be replaced by Gasly in the move. Ocon has competed for the Enstone-based team since 2020, and he assisted Alonso in regaining his composure when he returned to Formula One last year following a two-year absence.

Confidence

However, Ocon is optimistic that Gasly will be able to settle very quickly at Alpine and won’t require much assistance through the first few months of 2023. Ocon told reporters ” “I don’t think he’s going to require much help.” “Pierre seems to have a lot of experience. He has been a strong driver for many teams, including testing before that. There is always a learning curve to comprehend the car and how you operate. “I have the keys, and again, the most essential thing is for the team and I to discuss and proceed as we did with Fernando. “To score right away and give the team constructive criticism so they can genuinely get better, we need to move quickly.
