Box to Box Films’ Netflix documentary series Drive to Survive gives viewers unmatched access to the vibrant Formula 1 scene. The series’ crew follows a different team each race weekend, focusing on the major stories and controversies of the year while also revealing a more human side of the 20 drivers, 10 team owners, and other significant players. Drive to Survive quickly gained popularity after its inaugural season, which covered the 2018 season, and has been credited with introducing many new fans to Formula 1.

Drive to Survive usually debuts its most recent season during preseason testing, and season five won’t be any different. On Friday, February 24, Netflix will broadcast the next season, which will focus on the 2022 Formula 1 world championship. One full week before to the season opener at the same location, that release falls on the second day of Bahrain’s three-day 2023 preseason test.

Who are all be in this show?

When the documentary originally came onto the scene, Mercedes and Ferrari were reluctant to participate, but today all teams and drivers are working with the program and giving exclusive interviews on their seasons. Max Verstappen, the reigning world champion, had previously declined to participate because he disapproved of the innovative approaches the producers had employed with several of the F1 narratives. However, following discussions between the Red Bull driver and Netflix, the Dutchman will now participate, appreciating the program’s significance in advancing Formula 1.

What number of episodes will there be?

Season five will have 10 brand-new episodes, the same number as the previous seasons with the following titles and themes.

  1. New dawn: The series begins at the Bahrain Grand Prix and centers on the Ferrari team, which is off to a solid start and appears to be the early front-runner.
  2. Bounce back: On the opposite end of the scale, Mercedes’ W13 is off to a terrible start, much to the chagrin of team manager Toto Wolff.
  3. Like Father, Like Son: Mick Schumacher, the son of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher, was given his own episode to chronicle the loss of his Haas spot for 2023 following an erratic 2022 season.
  4. Question of Principle: Charles Leclerc and Mattia Binotto’s tempers flare as Ferrari’s season starts to fall apart due to repeated reliability issues and tactical errors.
  5. Hot Seat: In the weeks before Sergio Perez’s historic victory at the Monaco Grand Prix, this episode focuses on Perez’s life as Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate.
  6. Pardon my french: In an episode of Alpine, which is set during a busy summer, Fernando Alonso weighs his options for the future and decides to sign a contract with Aston Martin for the year 2023.
  7. Good People Finish Last: Daniel Ricciardo inevitably makes an appearance in an episode of the popular Australian comedy series after his problems at McLaren became one of the year’s most talked-about topics.
  8. Alpha Male: The eighth episode of Alpha Male focuses on the developing friendship between Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly of AlphaTauri.
  9. Over the Limit: Political squabbles in Formula One are a constant, and things reached a boiling point in the latter half of 2022 when Red Bull appeared to have over the budget ceiling for the year before.
  10. End of the Road: The season’s last race, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, is the focus of the episode. Verstappen’s second world championship has already been secured, so attention is now being paid to some of the drivers who are leaving Formula 1, particularly four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel.
