According to The Times UK, Formula One is planning to make Covid-19 vaccines mandatory for all personnel in 2022. As a result of the change, no one will be able to work within the paddock unless they are fully vaccinated. The policy applies to everyone who works in Formula One, including drivers, teams, media, hospitality workers, and racegoers.

The decision was made at a meeting of the world council of Formula One’s governing body, the FIA, last month. The FIA, on the other hand, is said to have held off on announcing the decision to the public. The motorsport is also said to follow each national government’s vaccine and wider Covid policies in the countries it will visit this season. However, it is unclear whether genuine medical exemptions will be allowed.

This strategy could lead to a relaxation of Formula One’s Covid restrictions. Reduced testing and relaxation of the bubble system, which was designed over the last two years to reduce the impact of Coronavirus, are among them. All 23 races scheduled this season will be governed by the rules.

After the pandemic, Formula One was the first major international sport to resume in the summer of 2020. It has successfully completed two seasons and a total of 39 races since then. The FIA has imposed a series of strict restrictions in order to reduce the risk of the Coronavirus spreading.

A new era

The Formula One season in 2022 will begin on March 20th in Bahrain and end on November 20th in Abu Dhabi. The Formula One race cars will debut this season with a slew of new features. In comparison to the previous season, the F1 race cars have undergone significant design changes. Over-wheel winglets, wheel covers, larger 18-inch wheels, redesigned front win and nose, and retro aero feature will be included. The powertrain will remain the same, but they will run on E10 fuel that contains 10% ethanol.
