F1 drivers with most wins at the British Grand Prix

The British Grand Prix has been held annually since 1948 and has been around the Championship every year since 1950.

The British Grand Prix is a Grand Prix motor race organized in the United Kingdom by the Royal Automobile Club. First held in 1926, the British Grand Prix has been held annually since 1948 and has been a round of the FIA Formula One World Championship every year since 1950. In 1952, following the transfer of the lease of the Silverstone Circuit to the British Racing Drivers’ Club, the RAC delegated the organization of the race to the BRDC for the first time, and this arrangement has continued for all British Grands Prix held at Silverstone since then. Today let’s find out about the drivers who have dominated the race.

Lewis Hamilton

It is no surprise that Lewis Hamilton has dominated his home race more than anybody in the sport. Hamilton has won the Grand Prix a total of eight times in his career till now. Lewis Hamilton is a British racing driver and the most successful driver in history, having won more races than anybody else and finishing as World Champion seven times. He began his Formula One career in 2007 with McLaren, where he was paired with two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso. After a very insane 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix, he would go on to win his first World Championship the following year.

Jim Clark

James Clark Jr. was a British Formula One racing driver from Scotland, who won two World Championships, in 1963 and 1965. A versatile driver, he competed in sports cars, touring cars and in the Indianapolis 500, which he won in 1965. He was particularly associated with the Lotus marque. Clark was killed in a Formula Two racing accident in 1968 in Hockenheim, West Germany. At the time of his death, aged 32, he had won more Grand Prix races (25) and achieved more Grand Prix pole positions (33) than any other driver. Clark won the prestigious race five times in his career.

Alain Prost

Alain Marie Pascal Prost is a French retired racing driver and Formula One team owner. A four-time Formula One Drivers’ Champion, from 1987 until 2001 he held the record for most Grand Prix victories until Michael Schumacher surpassed Prost’s total of 51 victories at the 2001 Belgian Grand Prix. In 1999, Prost received the World Sports Award of the Century in the motor sport category. Prost employed a smooth, relaxed style behind the wheel, deliberately modeling himself on personal heroes like Jackie Stewart and Jim Clark. Prost also managed to win the British Grand Prix five times in his career.
