With both off-track and on-track activations, Red Bull Racing’s vehicle will compete in the Intercontinental GT Challenge season opening. A 2011 F1 world championship-winning RB7 will be among those completing practise laps on the renowned Bathurst circuit. The driver of the demo vehicle will be officially introduced in the new year, but Daniel Ricciardo, the new third driver, whose duties include marketing efforts, could easily handle it.

The cars and drivers involved in the Red Bull run will also be on display for the public as part of the Bathurst 12 Hour paddock event. “Having Oracle Red Bull Racing at the event is an honour since they are the reigning Formula 1 world champions, but knowing that their Formula 1 car will be lapping Mount Panorama will be something else entirely,” said Shane Rudzis, the event director for the Bathurst 12 Hour. “This will be a show unlike anything we’ve ever seen at the 12 Hour and raises the competition to a completely new level. “This will be the biggest opportunity for Australian Formula 1 fans in 2023 to interact with F1 equipment up close and personal and an even rarer opportunity to watch a Formula 1 vehicle circuit Mount Panorama.

Perth Speed test

The second one was driving an RB7 around the streets of the CBD at the Perth Speed Fest in 2015. During the 2013 Top Gear Festival, Mark Webber also completed laps of Sydney Motorsport Park in an RB7. The unofficial lap record for F1 vehicles at Mount Panorama is held by Jenson Button, who set it in a McLaren MP4-23 in 2011 with a time of 1m48.8s. Craig Lowndes, a Supercars icon, also ran laps in the McLaren during the Vodafone event and came up barely a second short of Button’s best time. On February 3–5, 2023, the Bathurst 12 Hour will be held.
