Disguised Toast’s VALORANT roster’s long-awaited addition has finally been made official. The Disguised team has announced that superstar free agent yay will join them for the second split of the VALORANT Challengers North American league. Just before bringing him in for a “Pros vs. Noobs” showcase where both yay and tarik faced off against a stream team consisting of Toast, LilyPichu, Sykkuno, Hasan, and TinaKitten, Toast made the announcement official.

Drake “Exalt” Branly left the team in the middle of the Challengers split, freeing up a starting roster spot. Substitute Chris “riku” Piasecki filled in for the rest of Disguised’s first Challengers split. Yay joins the Disguised roster in Challengers and finds a new VALORANT team for 2023:

Toast appeared to be serious when he announced on April 1 that yay was joining the team, as he hinted at in a week two appearance on the VCT Americas stream. Many people anticipated that yay would choose the Challengers route in order to continue playing pro VALORANT this year given that the soft roster lock for VCT Americas had expired.

As an April Fool’s joke, Toast had previously announced yay’s addition to Disguised, saying that he had dropped the rest of the roster to make room for him. To everyone’s delight, the facetious statement turned out to be only partially accurate.

Yay became available after a brief stint with Cloud9, leaving the team due to “role issues” after VCT LOCK/IN but before the start of VCT Americas. Yay established himself as one of the top VALORANT players in the world prior to joining C9 during his 2022 season with OpTic Gaming. The team won the VCT Masters Reykjavik and advanced to the world championship grand finals at Champions 2022 thanks to yay’s dominance on OpTic against agents like Jett and Chamber and a wealth of firepower.

The heroic esports community is well-known for John “yay” Whiteaker. He holds a spot among the best esports competitors for Riot Games’ tactical shooter and is well known for his devastating firepower. For his incredibly well-regarded performances for OpTiC Gaming in VCT 2022 and for Team Envy in VCT 2023, the 24-year-old gained notoriety.

Disguised recently finished in the top eight of VALORANT Challengers NA’s first split; they placed eighth in the split itself and then eighth in the mid-season Face Off. They are currently ranked eighth and have seven circuit points, which is just enough to avoid being seeded lower if the playoffs began right now. On April 18, the VALORANT Challengers NA second split is scheduled to begin.
