Fortnite Season 8 might still be full of life, but players are already thinking about what is coming next. Here’s everything you need to know about the Fortnite Season 9 release date, and when Chapter 2, Season 8 will end.

We’re right in the middle of Fortnite Season 8, and the fresh content is showing no signs of slowing down.

On top of Marvel’s Carnage joining the Season 8 Battle Pass, the likes of The Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes and the Cube Queen have also joined the party since launch.

Even with all this new content, players are already thinking about Fortnite Season 9. Here’s everything we know about the next major update.

When does Fortnite Season 8 end?

According to the countdown found in-game, Fortnite Season 8 is currently scheduled to end on Sunday, December 5, 2021.

This date is pulled from the Season 8 Battle Pass, which tells players how long they have to rank up and complete challenges to unlock new skins and cosmetic items.

Ending the Battle Pass on a Sunday would match how Epic did things in Season 7, although Fortnite’s developers have been known to add additional time at the end of seasons in the past.

Fortnite Season 9 start date

Generally, the new season launches as soon as the previous one comes to an end. Therefore, we can expect that Fortnite Season 9 will start on Monday, December 6, 2021.

On occasion, an in-game live event can alter the start date slightly, but we’ll find out more information about possible season-ending events as the weeks go by.

What will be in the Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass?

Unfortunately, it’s too early to say with any certainty what will be in the Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass. Epic has a long history of crossing over with popular franchises, so expect to see some familiar faces.

The early December start date lines up with the release of the new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Marvel character has leaked previously and could easily be a Battle Pass skin.

The long-rumored Naruto skin has also yet to appear, prompting suggestions that next season’s pass could be anime-themed.

How much will the Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass cost?

While we don’t know the exact cost of the Season 9 Battle Pass yet, it will likely cost 950 V-Bucks. You’ll be able to purchase the smallest bundle containing 1,000 V-Bucks for 7.99 dollars/ 6.49 pounds from the Item Shop.

If you want to unlock the first 25 tiers of the Battle Pass right away, then you can spring for the Battle Bundle upgrade, costing 19.99 dollars / 15.99 pounds. This will grant you 2,500 V-Bucks, along with an additional 300 for free.
