Ideally when an enemy is extremely close, you can also consider just hip firing into their torso as there is no need for extra accuracy by aiming downward at such close range. Firing SMGs, Shotguns and Pistols at very close range will definitely do the job.
As mentioned earlier, close-range kills are extremely unlikely to occur in open spaces. The idea is to be smart when choosing areas to eliminate this sign.
